The indigenous people of Costa Rica, including the Chorotega, consumed maize as a large part of their diet during the pre-Columbian era. Although modern Costa Rican cuisine is very much influenced by the Spanish conquest of the country, corn still maintains a role in many dishes.
Since we opened over thirteen years ago, Los Almendros Restaurant has been rated the Number 1 restaurant in Esterillos! We are in the top 20 of over 1,000 restaurants in the entire province of Puntarenas! We are committed to food sustainability and we use only fresh, local ingredients to create world fusion flavors. Our menu has an eclectic and unique selection of Caribbean, Asian and local dishes. Our dishes are accompanied with green seasonal salads and seasonal fresh sauteed veggies as well as our famous Caribbean Rice and Beans which is cooked with homemade organic coconut milk. Our bar is beautiful with an excellent wine selection as well as unique house-crafted cocktails and craft beer on Tap!! We are located in the heart of Esterillos Oeste, three doors west of the soccer field on the road between Super Sol and the Soccer Field. We are open from 4 pm - 10 pm and are closed on Tuesdays. We accept all major credit cards as well as cash in US Dollars or local currency (Colones).
La Escapadita is a secluded beachfront hotel with stunning sunset views – all the locals come to our beach for the sunsets. After sunset, beachgoers crowd the restaurant and bar for some of the finest food and drinks for 20 miles (32km) in either direction.

Whole red snapper, seafood pasta, fresh salads, seasonal fruit juices, smoothies mixed drinks and local craft beers are just some of our specialties.
El Patio has been open for only a short time but already has made quite an impression. Locals love the casual, but refined, fare and friendly service. They have a big Tex Mex menu, wings, and more upscale offerings like steak and fresh fish entrees. Open for lunch and dinner. Located next to Super Sol grocery store, a hundred or so meters before the beach.
